Spellcrafting

Several people have asked me for spells, I really don't like giving spells out, especially to young teens. There are reasons for my reluctance to do this.

If you are under 18 years of age, your PARENTS are still in control of what religion you are to practice!!! if they do NOT agree with wicca i can not give you spells! I have put several up on my pages, and truthfully, if you are NOT at least somewhat experieced in casting a spell, you are endangering yourself and possibly others too! You have to understand there is much more to Wicca then just casting the spells!

I have also been asked for spells that *work right away* I am sorry to say, that 99.9 % of all spells take time to work!! Nothing works overnight, or at least not most of them.

I can never say too strongly that the best thing you can do before even considering to cast a spell  is to read read read read!!!!! Get your hands on anything you can find on Wicca, especially books written by Scott Cunningham, there are several others that are definately worth reading also that I have listed on my book page.

Now as to how to prepare to do your spellwork:

1. Write your spell out-When you do this you have to take everything into consideration, you must be specific about what you are doing or asking for. If you put down *I need $500.00 right away, well your favorite Aunt Trudy might just up and die and leave you her sole heir, and that is NOT what you want to have happen!!! Be specific on how you want this money to come about, thru a job, the lottery, ect. be specific!!!  If you are doing a love spell, again be sure you put down everything you can think of that you would desire in a partner, not that she/he be pretty with a nice body LOL. Add things in for the personality you would like, the hair color, right down to the color of thier eyes!!! Always remember that when writing your spell, it must harm none!! Remember that when you do a spell to change the weather, if you bring up a Thunderstorm, well you are responsible for the consequeces of your actions, this includes anyone who might die because of the storm, so think very hard on what you want to have happen!!

2. Ok now you have your spell written and it has all the details in it. You do not need to memorize the spell itself, you can if you want to of course. Now that the spell is written it is time to check your alter and make sure you have everything ready for your work. Make sure you have your candles, oils, stones, herbs, incense ready. Be sure you have any other little things you might want to have on the alter, say you want a new car, well get one of those little hotwheels cars and put it on your alter for a mind key!! If you are looking to buy a new house cut out a picture of a house you would like and put that on your alter, get as many differnt things together that will remind you of what you are casting your spell for and put them in view on your alter.

3. Now that you have everything organize and prepared it is time now for the ritual bath. Make sure you have the kids in bed, hubby in front of the tv or sleeping, make sure you get no phone calls if you can help it, so talk to your friends before you get ready to do your spell casting!! Now run your bath, put in a handful of sea salt, if that isnt available to you use epsom salts. The purpose of the ritual bath is to cleanse away the negativity of your day and to help you relax and prepare for your upcoming ritual. While you are luxuriating in the tub focus your mind on what you want to see happen as the result of your spellwork. If you are going for a house, see that house in your mind, visualize yourself and your family finding this perfect home and moving in!! If you are going for money, see yourself paying off all your bills and still having money left over to buy pizza!!(LOL) When you are ready to leave the bath, let the water out of the tub and visualize that with the water all the negative energy from your day is going down the drain with it and you leave the bath feeling recharged and ready to complete your spell!

4. Here some people make the choices on clothing. Some say wearing only ritual robes is ok, others prefer being skyclad (naked) others like thier everyday clothes and still others like to wear the appropriate color to go along with whatever their spell may be. (pink-love green-money) Again this is your choice to make, you wear, or not wear whatever is comfortalbe for YOU! Also at this time have whatever jewelry you want to wear in the circle ready also.

5. Now you are ready to go to your alter room. Make sure now that the kids are asleep and hubby is busy and fido isnt going to run into the room begging to go outside and the cat is playing with a catnip mouse (unless they are your familiars you do not want an animal in the room with you)

6. Here is where you are preparing to cast your circle. Put on some music if you want to again the choice of music is yours, there are a lot of new age CDs on the market now, and a lot of great Celtic music you can buy at new age shops also available, or like me you can choose the sound of running water, or the ocean, or rain.

7. Everything is ready and it is time to cast your circle and work your magick! Taking everything one step at a time when you are first starting out is the only way to do things, otherwise it gets very confusing! Remember if you forget a line in your spell make sure you have a written copy in the circle with you, preferably in your BOS or notebook, it will NOT ruin the spell if you mess up a bit. Just continue on and keep repeating the spell, it is usually recommended you say the spell at least three times :)

I hope this helps to give a little bit of an idea of what you need to do to prepare for spellcrafting, remember things work better if they are done by YOU there is always room to make changes in your magick dont be afraid to try different things!!
